Just Announced: Cold War Kids to Play Asheville, Athens, and Charleston in December

The Cold War Kids will play The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday, December 4, 2010.  Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 14.

The band will also play The 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia on Monday, December 6, 2010 and The Music Farm in Charleston, South Carolina on Tuesday, December 7, 2010.

According to this report at Pitchfork, Wolf Parade will play The Music Farm in Charleston, South Carolina on Monday, November 8, 2010 and the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, November 12, 2010.

Tonight, August 2, 2010 begins the inaugural concert of the monthly Charleston Singer Songwriter Series at the Charleston Pour House in Charleston, South Carolina. It is poised to be quite a night with a number of local artists. Musicians on the bill include Mac Leaphart, Danielle Howle, Graham Whorley, Lindsay Holler, James Justin Burke, Skye Paige, Gregory Scott, and Steven Hurst. There will also be live painting by Angela Chvarak and live spoken word poetry by Marcus Amaker. The gig begins on the Main Stage at 9:00 p.m. (doors open at 8:00 p.m.), but local band Shovels and Rope (comprised of Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent) will be performing on the venue’s deck starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets to the show are only $5, and more information can be found at the venue’s website here.

Last night, on July 29, 2010, Interpol performed “Barricade,” the fifth track from its forthcoming self-titled album, on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

As noted previously here, Interpol will play The Music Farm in Charleston, South Carolina on Wednesday, August 18 and The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, November 1.

Just Announced: Interpol to Play Atlanta, 11/1

Interpol will play The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, November 1, 2010. The band was originally scheduled to play the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Georgia on July 8, 2010, but that show was canceled when U2, who Interpol was supporting on its tour, postponed some of its North American shows, thereby thwarting Interpol’s plans to headline some side gigs. Tickets to the Atlanta show will go on sale Friday, August 13, 2010. No word yet on whether an Athens date will be rescheduled.

The band will also be playing The Music Farm in Charleston, South Carolina on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, although that show had been previously announced.
